September 1 was Apple Cider Day. The resident decided to make a batch of Apple cider cookies to celebrate.

Apple Cider Cookie Recipe

Ingredients 

2 tablespoons sugar
1 package of Apple Cider instant drink mix (do not prepare)
1 ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pouch Betty Crocker Sugar cookie mix
½ cup butter softened
1 egg
¾ cup finely chopped peeled apple

STEPS

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. In a small bowl, mix sugar, 1 teaspoon of the apple cider drink mix and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and set aside
  2. In a large bowl, stir cookie mix, softened butter, egg and remaining apple cider drink mix and cinnamon with a spoon until a soft dough forms. Stir in apple slices until combined. Shape dough into 40 (1 ¼ inch) balls. Roll balls in a sugar-spice mixture. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake for 7-9 minutes or until the edges are set and light golden brown. Cool 1 minute, remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Cool completely. Store covered in an airtight container.

A Night to Remember: Our Assisted Living Prom

We recently hosted a magical evening at our Assisted Living Prom, which was a tremendous success! Our residents donned their finest attire, surrounded by music, laughter, and many joyful memories. The room was beautifully decorated, capturing the essence of a classic prom, complete with twinkling lights and elegant touches. Special thanks to Christina Bernal and volunteers who worked tirelessly to create a memorable experience for everyone. It was a heartwarming event that brought together residents, families, and staff for a night of celebration and community.
